5 movies you forgot were actually Christmas movies!

Gremlins (1984)

A boy inadvertently breaks three important rules concerning his new pet and unleashes a horde of malevolently mischievous monsters on a small town.

The gremlins cause havoc in Kingston Falls at Christmas time. Who can forget the menacing Caroling Gremlins.

Batman Returns (1992)

Batman returns to the big screen when a deformed man calling himself the Penguin wreaks havoc across Gotham with the help of a cruel businessman

Tim Burton creates a Christmasy, outlandish fairy tale setting in one of the best Batman movies. Michelle Pfeiffer pulls of catwoman better than anyone.

Lethal Weapon (1987)

Two newly paired cops who are complete opposites must put aside their differences in order to catch a gang of drug smugglers.

This 1980s action thriller has turned into a Christmas classic in the years since its release. Some will argue that it is actually a superior action Christmas movie to Die Hard.

The Shining (1980)

A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where a sinister presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from both past and future.

This one is controversial as there is no reference to Christmas in the movie. But the heavy snow in deep winter suggests the events are happening through the Christmas Period.

Star Trek: Generations (1994)

With the help of long presumed dead Captain Kirk, Captain Picard must stop a deranged scientist willing to murder on a planetary scale in order to enter a space matrix.

Trapped in the Nexus in 2371, Captain Jean-Luc Picard experienced Christmas. There was a tree, presents and Christmas dinner. He had an illusion of children and wife, and stopped to watch the snow falling – until Guinan (Whoopi Goldberg) revealed the illusion.
